Swampy Refuge Inn

The ancient Swampy Refuge Inn stands tucked away in the vast Dotted Valley, a drainage basin for the Jagged Crest Mountains. A towering building dotted with old windows and irregularly spaced balconies, The Inn serves as the meeting place for the largest group of adventurers in the Adrikus Region. The bottom floor is sunken below the ground level with five more piled upon it. The smell of peat permeates the entire first floor, and the air never seems to lose a slight chill. The wooden floor and walls are stained a dark nearly black color, and gives way beneath the foot with a spongy sensation. Lit mostly by torches attached to the wall, the main common room is never well lit, but never shrouded in shadow. The adventurers who collect in the Inn are mostly at ease in the large, old room, characterizing it as ‘homey’. Most of the nobility that frequent the Inn characterize the room with very different language.

  • Thered
    • a widower approaching the end of middle age, Thered owns the Swampy Refuge Inn. He spends most of his day engaged in menial tasks around the grounds, and most of the evenings in the common room. A favorite game of adventurers is trying to guess where Thered sleeps at night.

    • in charge of the stable, highest paid other than owner

    • bar manger, ensures there is always food and drink etc.

    • most commonly working floor staff
  • Insul
    • upper floor private bouncer, probably employed by the residents of the second floor. Dragonborn (Silver).
The Adrikus Executioners
  • Dyrk
    • a well armored man with a few too many weapons, Dyrk is a hard drinker obviously respected by the other Executioners
  • Feck
    • light armor and blade, Feck moves with wide, smooth strides, constantly checking his flanks
  • Namen
    • a cleric of Zirchev who tolerates his companions while at the Inn, Namen is constantly looking out for potential new converts to his faith.
Other Adventurers
  • Hallan
    • A woman who brings only a single ornamental dagger on adventures, Hallan moves smoothly, is
      constantly aware of her surroundings and never seems quite comfortable while engaged in conversation.
  • Tylsa
    • An archer by training, Tylsa takes the same strategy in social settings that she does in combat: stay out of the fray. She controls any battlefield with short, sharp quips.
  • Inzul
    • a strange humanoid with draconic features, Inzul is the gatekeeper for floors above the first floor of rooms.
  • Aialon
    • an elf residing in the main common room of the Inn, he wears a simple long sword and mostly keeps to himself, reading with a glass of inexpensive wine.
  • Lelyrian
    • A dark, broody sort, Lelyrian always sits with his back to the wall inspecting anyone else in the room. A blue tinged skin with short horns, this tiefling wears his weapons so that each hand can draw regardless of what the other hand is doing.
  • Rogath Ambershard
    • He looks like an old Dwarf (800-900 yrs old). Customer, fixture in the common room, drinks. Friendly but stoic and quiet. (Retired)
